Year 6 English
Students build their analytical skills, gaining greater insight into the choices made by the creators of texts and how these impact readers. The focus on evaluation in the final years of the primary curriculum requires a larger technical vocabulary, greater ability to understand abstract meaning and figurative language, and to master a range of text types. Pre-essay writing skills are consolidated in preparation for Year 7.

ºÚÁÏÍø's Primary English learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Josephine is a qualified, registered Teacher, holding a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning. She has experience teaching years 4-6 in English, Maths, Visual Arts, Media Art and Design and Technology. She has experience in online teaching, helping students with disabilities and has also taught years 3 - 11 with a focus on disengaged students. She enjoys creating a fun and engaging learning environment for her students to thrive in.

Harriette completed her South Australian Certificate of Education in 2019, achieving an ATAR of 99, then went on to study her Bachelor of Law and International Relations at Adelaide University. She tutors Year 11 and 12 students in various South Australian Certificate of Education subjects, with additional experience tutoring Primary students in Numeracy and Literacy. Harriette prides herself on her friendly disposition and endeavours to make tutoring sessions as accessible and enjoyable as possible. She understands that every student learns differently and it is her incentive to ensure her students feel as though they are in a comfortable environment, where they can ask to questions and explore until they genuinely understand the content.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
