English Tutoring Program Based on the National Curriculum
ºÚÁÏÍø's Primary English learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.

Catherine is a qualified, registered Teacher holding her Bachelor of Education (Home Economics) and having 30 years of teaching experience. She has experience with students in Years 8-10 as well as ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching. She has worked as a Teacher Librarian and as a Supply Teacher, assisting students with assignments and their Language and Literary learning across the spectrum of 2-12 years. Catherine is currently facilitating a leadership program with Years 10, 11 and 12 students which enables their growth in emotional intelligence.

Jessica completed her Victorian Certificate of Education in 2019, achieving an ATAR of 97.90, going on to commence her Bachelor of Biomedical Science in 2020 at Monash University. She has 1 year of experience as a Volunteer Tutor in Music, Mathematics and English with special needs students. Jessica is a driven, open-minded person with a flexible mindset. She is confident, friendly and loves engaging with and helping students in any way possible. She strives to help her students meet their goals.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.
Session breakdown
First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)
- Review previous session's assigned practice (if subsequent session)
- Set session learning goals
45 Minutes
During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
- Tutor demonstrates, guides and explains concepts
- Work through any challenges
- Students are encouraged to explain their thinking to clarify their comprehension
Closing 5 Minutes
