Year 3 English
Students learn about complex language features, varied sentence structures and expand their vocabulary. Over the year they also learn a significant number of new high-frequency sight words and words that need to be decoded phonically, and a range of punctuation conventions, as well as an understanding of how literary devices, illustrations and diagrams make meaning in printed text. They create a range of written texts of their own for various purposes and audiences.

Dr Samuels and her Education team developed ºÚÁÏÍø's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.

ºÚÁÏÍø's Primary English learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. In 2019 Imogen completed a Bachelor of Arts (Japanese & Economics) and Diplomas of Languages (Spanish) at the University of Queensland. She has experience working at Primary schools across all year levels. Imogen brings her love of languages and enthusiasm for learning to every session. With extensive experience in tutoring ESL students, she focusses on helping students of all ages to feel confident in their abilities.

Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
